The Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates, Inc. is a professional organization of nurses and associates dedicated to the safe and effective practice of gastroenterology and endoscopy nursing. SGNA carries out its mission by advancing the science and practice of gastroenterology and endoscopy nursing through education, research, and collaboration, and by promoting the professional development of its members in an atmosphere of mutual support. For more than 35 years, SGNA has served as the voice of more than 8,000 members and their patients.
Mission Statement of The Society of GI Nurses and Associates:
The Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates is a professional organization of nurses and associates dedicated to the safe and effective practice of gastroenterology and endoscopy nursing. SGNA carries out its mission by advancing the science and practice of gastroenterology and endoscopy nursing through education, research, advocacy, and collaboration, and by promoting the professional development of its members in an atmosphere of mutual support.
ENCSGNA Region 42 - Eastern North Carolina Society of GI Nurses and Associates is a non-profit region of SGNA. Members of SGNA can choose their region based on where they live or work. Regional lines for ENCSGNA are from north to south – the Virginia boarder to Wilmington, North Carolina and from east to west the North Carolina Coast to Greensboro, North Carolina. Each Regional Society maintains and updates their bylaws, which the elected Regional Board Members follow. ENCSGNA supports the mission statement of SGNA by providing annual scholarships to its members to promote their educational success through college advancement, conferences, or certification. In addition, Region 42 holds biannual regional conferences to promote education through evidence based practice.
